Life of Thomas Jefferson

April 13, 1743 - Thomas Jefferson born to Peter and Jane Randolph Jefferson, in Virginia. 1752 - Jefferson begins his schooling. 1757 - Jefferson's father dies. 1760 - Jefferson enters College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va. 1772 - Jefferson marries Martha Wayles Skelton. 1776 - Jefferson prepares draft of the Declaration of Independence which is reviewed by Benjamin Franklin and John Adams. 1779 to 1781 - Jefferson serves as Governor of Virginia. 1801 - Jefferson becomes President. 1803 - Jefferson acquires the Louisiana Purchase. July 4, 1826 - Thomas Jefferson dies on the 50th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
